Recently, I heard that communication network got new development of technology. They developed new cable TV settop box instead of traditional cable. It called as 'New box' and it includes a limited personal computer and video recorder as the functions.
A settop box is a device that enables a television set to become a user interface to the Internet and also enables a television set to receive and decode digital television (DTV) broadcasts (Searchnetworking.techtarget.com, 2010).
Digital television settop box was the one of main device, more than 35million homes start to use new box.
I think now more than 35millions homes are using this new box because it launched in end of 2006. It also used for satelite, cable, and terrestrial DTV(decode digital television) services, and they are especially important for terrestrial services because they guarantee viewers free television broadcasting (Searchnetworking.techtarget.com, 2010).
